Col de Trout (canvas)
Col de Trout is the first painting I made en plein van... I was literally in my van/mobile studio because it was crazy windy and I needed the protection of the van walls. We had ridden the Col de Trout gravel ride the day before and I had made a couple of paper works while out on the ride so knew where I wanted to be for this painting. This is about the road winding through the canyon and the vibrant reds, oranges and violets of the plants waking up after a long winter covered in snow and visibly shouting, "I'm alive!".
