The Corkscrew... local name for the killer climb near the end of the Blue and Black courses... around mile 88 for Blue riders then mile 125 for Black riders.
"Corkscrew" is an original mixed media watercolor I created for my VIEWS FROM MY BIKE 2021 collection… inspired by gravel rides along the SBTGRVL routes. Along with snacks and tools to fix a flat, I packed my bike frame bag with paints, paper, brushes and pens and created these small works on paper while out on the rides. More details were added back in the studio; some of the pieces were inspired by the rides and created in the studio.
This original is on a 16x5" piece of Moleskine sketchbook watercolor paper, float mounted on white archival mat board and framed in a lightly textured silver grey thin 22x 11" wood frame. Signed and titled on the front and ready to hang.
